Home again, home again, jiggedy jig

10 June, 2006
Posted in: Family

It is lovely to be back.  The children are all bigger and more beautiful than I remembered.  Yes, I know, they probably haven’t grown that much since Tuesday.  My saintly husband has taken the boys out for a walk and her imperial highness is napping.  What should I do with myself?  I suppose there is always laundry.  I think the glamour is what I love most about my lifestyle.

That was almost, almost enough glamour to convince me to have children. Maybe.

Where does, ‘Home again, home again, jiggety jig’ come from? I say it as well, because my mother used to say it to me – I’m assuming she didn’t say it to you too.

It comes from an old nursery rhyme – but was reprised quite creepily in Blade Runner, as I recall …

Mmm, Bobble, fabulous. Lilo, Pog, my mother used to say it to me too, I am unaware of the creepy version and now I am unnerved.
