Too much Enid Blyton

I overheard the Princess saying to her brother – “Daniel, if you find the cat, I will give you a shilling.”

I’m chuckling. Did she also offer hockey sticks and a midnight feast?

My god, the Greek Euro crisis has spread further than I thought.

You will be hearing requests for “lashings of ginger beer” soon. I always felt hard done by that it wasn’t available in Cappamore…

Lucy, she was asking me the other day where she would find springy heather to make beds.

TM yes, and none of that new fangled money either – we’re back to the days when money was money before this namby pamby decimalisation took off.

Actually, M, getting back to my comment to Lucy, as a child I thought gorse was springy heather (as we had lots of that in Cork, not so much heather) and was indignant that my mother would not let me test its springy bed qualities.
