Michael (crossly): Michael est BELLE.

Mr. Waffle: Ta soeur est belle, tu es beau.

Michael (furious): MICHAEL EST BELLE.

Mr. Waffle: Michael est belle.

    I need to bookmark this! There’s a school of thought that says children learning languages that mark gender *never* make gender errors… but we also know that children are confused about what gender they are themselves and whether it’s constant, for quite some time…
