My sister had twin girls a few months ago, one of them is called Marianne, which is unusual these days. Anne is a very fine name, and I think nobody can say how old you are based on your name, unlike some American-sounding named youth here in France (Kevin, Jennifer, Jessica, etc. all between twenty five and thirty now). Anyway I will be 53 in a week, so you are a little girl to me.

Actually, yes almost. Our younger daughter is Ann (no ‘e’, it’s the English version) and she’s only 27. so I suppose almost 30 (oh my, that’s scary!) but still definitely under 30!!

I must mention that I was speaking to the culprit’s mother and told him this and she said, “I think it’s because his grandmother’s name is Anne”. We take comfort where we can.
