Our theoretical physics student: I have to do an assignment on classical field theory.
Me (hilariously): Oh I prefer the modern stuff.
Mr. Waffle (unwisely): What’s that?
TP student: Basically, electro and magneto statics and dynamics*
Me: Actually, I liked it better before it went electric.

*Or words to that effect – electric definitely came in there somewhere.
My brother is a theoretical physicist.
I no longer ask what he does, it’s easier for everyone.
(But finding formulae written on the back of envelopes is not uncommon when he is in the house)
An odd bunch huh?
They are…interesting (my brother is pretty human now compared to when he was 18 – but that was 40 years ago)
Mind you, my beloved is well connected into the academic historians network (largely German history), and they are just bossy….
But they don’t think they understand the mysteries of the universe, I assume…
No..but they know..everything…
